Stone Fruit Melodies was written in the warm haze of a Summer road trip and the demos were recorded in the cold grind of a Dunedin Winter, finding light on stage the following Summer.
We recently decided to re-record Stone Fruit Melodies at Chicks Hotel as Summer came to an end and had a far healthier experience the second time round with wizard and friend Tom Bell.
The fruits of all that labour is finally here for your ears but none of it would have been possible without the help of a tonne of folk. So.... Big thanks first and foremost to everyone who's helped with the recordings, mixings and masterings. Patrick Hill at Roundhead who recorded our first Studio singles and was there from the beginning helping with the demos along with Theo Francis. Tom Bell at Chicks for helping us get through the re-recording of the tracks and making them sound great. Fabian Tormin for the Mastering. Huuuuge thanks to the guys at Birdsnest, Harry, String, Jake, Finn, jah bless you. Thanks to all the curry folk for all the support during the making of the songs, Grace and Karlos for the vocals! All the pals who were there during the conception of these songs and did their bit to assist: Gracie, Louis, Jesse, James, Tom, Brownie, Jacob, PK, Syc, Briar, Loz, Fonzy baby, many more names, many more thanks.
Most of all - from Oscar - thanks to these other Oats. Max Plaster Fingers Holmes who earnt the name thrashing the Blue Whale. Conor Gorilla Sticks Feehly for instantly knowing what drums to put down and for being there every step of the way. Last and least the man Henry Francis. Henry was the captain of the whole endeavour, we used his gear (Jah bless the bubble stick), his space, his ideas, his liver, his lungs, his neck. He took the whole thing on without the bat of an eye and I had no fucking clue what recording and the rest would entail. Henry is king and Stone Fruit Melodies belongs to him through and through.
Cheers to all you legends!

I like the mood and the stress-free feling of this Album. Especially "Mixed Up and Confused" reminds me always of my fantastic trip to croatia with my girlfriend last year. We heard that song every day. wolf87
